Relive the magic of the 60s with Jay and the Americans, as their harmonies continue to shine with new life and excitement.

About Us

Jay and the Americans, one of the most iconic vocal groups of the 1960s, continue to captivate audiences with their timeless harmonies and classic hits. Led by the dynamic vocals of Jay Reincke, whose powerful voice breathes new life into the group’s legendary repertoire, the band also features founding members Sandy Deanne and Marty Sanders. Sandy, an accomplished producer and music visionary, and Marty, a masterful songwriter and guitarist, have been integral in shaping the band's sound, both on stage and behind the scenes. With the addition of versatile singer and performer Darren Dowler, former lead vocalist of Paul Revere and the Raiders, the group blends their rich legacy with a fresh, modern edge. Together, they continue to bring the past to life with electrifying performances that keep the legacy of Jay and the Americans thriving for a new generation of fans.

Shaping Legends, Singing History

Jay and the Americans were instrumental in the early careers of iconic musicians Donald Fagen and Walter Becker, who would later form Steely Dan. The band signed the duo to their publishing company, helping them refine their craft as songwriters and musicians. Fagen and Becker not only contributed their talents on keyboards and bass during Jay and the Americans' live performances but also recorded their first studio demos under the group’s mentorship.

With their signature harmonies and unique vocal unison, Jay and the Americans became a sought-after group to provide background vocals for legendary artists, including Johnny Mathis, Bobby Goldsboro, and even punk pioneers, The Ramones.

Throughout their illustrious career, Jay and the Americans have shared the stage with some of the greatest names in music history: The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, James Brown, Little Richard, Roy Orbison, Sammy Davis Jr., The Dave Clark Five, The Supremes, Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson & The Miracles, The Beach Boys, The Four Seasons, The Four Tops, The Young Rascals, The Ronettes, Jan & Dean, and many more.

Still Touring, Still Iconic

Jay and the Americans continue to be a vibrant force in the music world, thrilling audiences nationwide with their unforgettable performances. Having completed the widely acclaimed, successful fan-favorite Happy Together Tour this past year, where they shared the stage with fellow 1960s icons, they continue to prove why their timeless hits and electrifying harmonies are as relevant today as ever. With a packed schedule ahead, Jay and the Americans are set to perform at numerous venues across the country. They are also proud to be part of the upcoming Flower Power Cruise, where fans can experience their classic sound alongside other legendary acts in a one-of-a-kind musical voyage.
